HAMILTON, N.Y. — In an exciting match-up on Sunday, Nicolas Louis-Jacques played a key role in Colgate’s victory over Vermont, leading the Raiders to a 65-60 win with a contribution of 17 points.
Louis-Jacques demonstrated his skills by shooting 7 out of 13 from the field, including 3 for 7 from three-point range, helping the Raiders improve their record to 3-9. Jalen Cox also made a notable impact, scoring 14 points while shooting 6 of 11 from the field, including making 1 of 4 attempts from beyond the arc. Brady Cummins rounded out the scoring efforts, contributing 11 points with a shooting performance of 2 for 6 from the field along with going 7 for 10 at the free-throw line. This victory marked a significant turnaround for Colgate, as they ended a challenging five-game losing streak.
For the Catamounts, Nick Fiorillo was the standout performer, tallying 23 points while grabbing six rebounds and posting two steals. His teammate, TJ Hurley, added 19 points to the team’s effort, and Shamir Bogues contributed with 10 points alongside seven rebounds and five assists.
The first half concluded with Colgate leading Vermont by a narrow margin of 28-26, with Cox being a crucial contributor, scoring nine points during the half. In the second half, Colgate made a decisive move, initiating an 8-0 run that allowed them to erase a three-point deficit and establish a 55-50 lead with just 5:21 left in the game. Cummins was impactful in the second half as well, scoring nine points and helping secure the win for the Raiders.
