COMMERCE, Texas — In a thrilling matchup on Sunday, Myles Corey showcased his skills, scoring 27 points to lead South Alabama to an 81-72 triumph over East Texas A&M.
Corey also contributed significantly by dishing out five assists and securing four steals, helping the Jaguars improve their record to 7-3. Barry Dunning Jr. had a commendable performance, netting 14 points and collecting five rebounds. Additionally, John Broom made his mark by shooting an impressive 4 of 5 from the field, including a perfect 3 for 3 from beyond the arc, totaling 11 points along with four steals.
On the other hand, the Lions struggled to find their rhythm, with Khaliq Abdul-Mateen leading their efforts, finishing the game with 17 points. Yusef Salih matched this scoring effort, also contributing 17 points for Texas A&M-Commerce. Tay Mosher added to the tally with eight points. Unfortunately for the Lions, this defeat marks their seventh consecutive loss, deepening their struggles this season.
