In Berkeley, California, Andrej Stojakovic delivered an exceptional performance, scoring a career-high of 31 points, while teammate Jermiah Wilkinson contributed 18 points off the bench as California triumphed over Northwestern State, securing an 84-66 victory on Saturday. This win allowed Cal to break free from a challenging three-game losing streak.

Stojakovic, who previously set a personal best of 26 points in a game against Missouri on December 3, showcased his shooting skills remarkably. He completed 10 of his 14 attempts from the field, hitting 4 of 6 attempts beyond the arc, and converting 7 of 8 free throws during the match.

Other notable scores for the Golden Bears included Joshua Ola-Joseph with 13 points and Jovan Blacksher Jr. with 12 points, helping the team recover from their recent 88-80 defeat to Cornell on Tuesday.

For the Demons, Landyn Jumawa was a standout scorer with 15 points, while Jon Sanders II chipped in with 10 points. Northwestern State, now with a record of 4-6, put up a challenge in the first half, trailing closely at 36-33. However, the Golden Bears (7-4) quickly gained momentum after halftime, as Ola-Joseph opened the scoring with a three-pointer, followed by a layup from Stojakovic, and a subsequent three from Rytis Petraitis. Stojakovic then hit another three, extending Cal’s lead to 47-35. From that point on, the Golden Bears maintained a comfortable lead, keeping the score gap in double digits for the remainder of the game.
