LAFAYETTE, La. — In a decisive performance, Andrew Holifield led the charge for Lamar, scoring 17 points as the Cardinals triumphed over Louisiana with a final score of 74-45 on Saturday.

Holifield showcased his all-around game by also pulling down 11 rebounds to aid his team’s efforts. Janko Buljic made notable contributions as well, adding 12 points to the scoreboard with an efficient shooting performance, hitting 6 of 9 attempts from the field. Not to be overlooked, Alexis Marmolejos had an impressive outing, scoring 11 points and demonstrating accuracy with a shooting line of 4 for 5, which included making all three of his attempts from three-point range.

On the other side, Kyndall Davis was the standout for the Ragin’ Cajuns, finishing the game with 11 points. His teammate Brandon Hardy contributed 10 points, while Kentrell Garnett rounded out the scoring for Louisiana, concluding the game with nine points.

This victory improved Lamar’s overall record to 5-5, while Louisiana dropped to 2-9, highlighting the challenges they have faced in the season.
