Two bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a fishing vessel that apparently capsized earlier this month off the southeast coast of Alaska, where five people were known to be on board during turbulent weather conditions.
Authorities gathered evidence from the site on Monday, including fishing buoys and equipment linked to the Wind Walker, according to Austin McDaniel, a spokesperson for the Alaska Department of Public Safety. This evidence led them to believe that the two deceased individuals were part of the ill-fated crew.
The remains of the two individuals have been sent to the state’s medical examiner’s office for autopsy and positive identification. Family members of the five missing individuals from the boat have been informed about the discovery of the bodies, as stated by McDaniel.
