Tulsa has appointed Tre Lamb as the new head coach of their football program, as announced on Sunday.
The 35-year-old Lamb takes over after the dismissal of Kevin Wilson, who had a challenging tenure that resulted in a 3-9 record this past season, concluding with a firing just before the final game.
Wilson’s overall record at Tulsa stood at 7-16 over two seasons, with a disappointing 3-12 mark in the American Athletic Conference.

Lamb comes to Tulsa after a successful season at East Tennessee State, where he guided the team to a respectable 7-5 record, marking his first year as a head coach at his alma mater.
“Assuming the role of head football coach at Tulsa is an honor I take very seriously,” Lamb remarked.
He emphasized his ambition to compete for championships, mentioning his eagerness to assemble a coaching staff and build a roster that would excite both the students and fans alike.

Prior to his stint at East Tennessee State, Lamb was the head coach at Gardner-Webb for four seasons.
During his time there, he achieved notable success, winning two Big South Conference championships and leading the team to consecutive playoff appearances in the FCS, including the school’s first playoff victory at that level.
Additionally, Lamb held positions as offensive coordinator at Tennessee Tech and served as the quarterbacks coach at Mercer.

Tulsa athletic director Justin Moore expressed enthusiasm about Lamb’s hiring, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Tre and his family to TU.
His youthful energy and proven track record make him the right choice to lead our football program back to its winning ways in this evolving landscape of college football.”

The Golden Hurricane program looks forward to a new era under Lamb’s leadership, as he prepares to lay the groundwork for a brighter future in Tulsa football.
