EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Late in the game on Sunday, New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr left the field due to an injury he incurred while attempting to secure a first down.
Carr made an effort to leap over a New York Giants defender but landed awkwardly. He remained on the field for a couple of minutes before he was assisted to the medical tent. Following an examination, he slowly made his way to the location designated for X-ray procedures.
During the play, Carr came up just short of the required yardage, leading to Jake Haener stepping in for a crucial third-and-1 attempt. However, Giants linebacker Micah McFadden successfully halted the play, allowing the Giants to regain possession of the ball.
After the Saints’ Demario Davis managed to make an interception, Haener took over for the ensuing series. The Giants, subsequently, received the ball back with only 1:21 remaining on the clock.
