NEW YORK — On Saturday, Flavien Prat achieved a milestone by reaching his 80th stakes win of the year, capturing the $250,000 Remsen at Aqueduct, which sets a new record for a single season.
Prat expertly piloted Poster to a narrow victory in the 1 1/8 mile event designed for 2-year-olds.
This achievement surpassed the previous high of 79 stakes wins held by Irad Ortiz Jr., recorded in 2022.

In addition to his historic win, Prat secured another graded stakes victory on the same card, having previously triumphed in the $200,000 Go for Wand with Tizzy in the Sky.
This accomplishment also enabled him to match Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey’s previous record of 55 wins, which was established in 2003.
Prat’s standout performances this year include an impressive win in the Breeders’ Cup Classic with Sierra Leone.

“I’m very thankful,” Prat expressed.
“It’s off my back, and it was something that was in the back of my mind for sure.
You never know if that opportunity is going to come again, so it was something that I was definitely trying to achieve.
I have great people supporting me all year round.”
