Furman Secures Victory Over Princeton
Greenville, South Carolina witnessed a thrilling college basketball match on Saturday as Furman emerged victorious against Princeton with a score of 69-63. Pjay Smith Jr. was a standout player for the Paladins, contributing 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, showcasing his all-around skills on the court.
In addition to Smith’s impressive performance, his teammate Garrett Hien added depth to the scoring by netting 10 points, while also grabbing seven rebounds despite struggling at the free-throw line, hitting none of his four attempts. Nick Anderson chipped in with nine points, including three successful shots from long range out of nine attempts.
On the side of the Tigers, Xaivian Lee led the team with a solid showing, posting 16 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. He was instrumental in keeping Princeton competitive throughout the game. Dalen Davis followed closely with 13 points and four assists, contributing to the overall effort. Caden Pierce also delivered a solid performance, securing 11 points and four steals.
Looking ahead, Furman will prepare to face South Carolina State in their upcoming home game this Saturday, while Princeton is set to host Monmouth on Tuesday as both teams aim to build on their current performances this season.
