DURBAN, South Africa — In an impressive display of skill, South Africa claimed a 233-run victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test match held on Saturday. The standout performer for the South African team was medium-pacer Marco Jansen, who achieved a remarkable 11 wickets throughout the match.

Sri Lanka faced a daunting target of 516 runs and commenced the final day in a challenging position, having lost five wickets for just 103 runs. Ultimately, they were bowled out for 282 runs. Dinesh Chandimal, who fought valiantly with a top score of 83, was the standout batsman before falling victim to a catch off the bowling of Gerald Coetzee.
