SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — In a commanding performance on Friday night, UC Santa Barbara triumphed over Mississippi Valley State with a score of 81-48. Zion Sensley was a standout player for the Gauchos, contributing 16 points to the team’s total. He displayed impressive shooting skills, making 6 of 11 shots from the floor and hitting 3 of 7 from three-point range.
Kenny Pohto also had a notable game, scoring 12 points while maintaining an unblemished shooting record, going 5 for 5 from the field. He also contributed by converting 2 of his 3 free throw attempts. Cole Anderson added to the team’s efforts with nine points, successfully hitting 3 of his 6 field goal attempts, which included 3 out of 5 from beyond the arc. The Gauchos improved their record to 6-1 with this victory.
On the other side, Mississippi Valley State struggled to keep pace, with Arthur Tate leading the Delta Devils in scoring by netting 11 points. Donovan Sanders provided additional support, chipping in 10 points along with two steals. Kendal Parker contributed as well, scoring eight points.
