Republican Representative Gus Bilirakis has successfully secured reelection for his U.S. House seat representing Florida in the recent election held on Tuesday.
The 12th District, which he serves, is situated along the Gulf Coast, located just north of Tampa Bay. This area encompasses parts of the region that faced the impacts of multiple hurricanes in the preceding month.
Bilirakis has been a member of the House since 2007 and has previously held a position in the Florida House of Representatives. In addition, he has experience in private legal practice.
In the election, he triumphed over Democrat Rock Aboujaoude, with the announcement of his victory made at 7:05 p.m. EST.
