Trump accused FEMA of allocating resources to assist undocumented immigrants, while others criticized the government for supposedly overspending on foreign countries like Israel and Ukraine. FEMA’s Keith Turi clarified that the agency has ample funding for the response to Hurricane Helene, with $8 billion allocated for recovery efforts from previous disasters.
Furthermore, outlandish conspiracy theories, such as claims made by Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, have surfaced, suggesting that the government manipulated the hurricane to influence the presidential election.
