MILAN – At 90, Giorgio Armani continues to demonstrate his enduring creativity and flair. This was evident in the Emporio Armani collection showcased during Milan Fashion Week, where playing cards served as a prominent motif.
In this collection, sequined playing cards made appearances, tucked into bodices or conveniently placed in belts and jacket pockets. Some pieces featured heart-shaped tops beneath jackets, belt buckles fashioned as diamonds, and costume jewelry in the shapes of clubs and spades. For the boldest fashion enthusiasts, an overcoat displayed all the suits together.
The collection drew inspiration from men’s fashion for women, emphasizing three-piece suits and luxurious velvet ensembles complete with matching ties or large neck bows. The trousers offered a comfortable fit with deep pockets, while shirt collars and cuffs seemed to detach, creating an almost magical floating effect.
Giorgio Armani, a seasoned and respected designer, made his traditional post-show appearance alongside his niece, Silvana Armani, who leads the womenswear design studio. This gesture highlighted the clear line of succession within his fashion empire.
