ELON, N.C. — In an exciting matchup on Thursday night, the Elon Phoenix triumphed over the Towson Tigers with a score of 69-63, thanks in large part to TK Simpkins, who netted an impressive 28 points.
Simpkins displayed a strong performance, shooting 8 for 14 from the field, including a commendable 5 of 8 from beyond the arc, and added a solid 7 of 9 from the free-throw line. His brother, TJ Simpkins, also made a significant impact, contributing 19 points along with four steals. Matthew Van Komen added to the scoring with eight points, going a perfect 4 for 4 from the floor.
On the other hand, the Tigers were led by Tyler Tejada, who scored 24 points in the effort. Dylan Williamson supported the team with 12 points and five assists, while Tomiwa Sulaiman made his presence felt with a double-double, contributing 11 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals.
