NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In an exciting matchup on Monday evening, Northern Iowa triumphed over Murray State with a final score of 74-67, thanks in large part to Trey Campbell’s impressive performance, as he racked up 21 points.
Campbell demonstrated his shooting prowess, sinking 7 of 12 attempts from the field, including an impressive 5 for 7 from beyond the arc, contributing significantly to the Panthers’ (18-9, 12-4 Missouri Valley Conference) success. Tytan Anderson also had a noteworthy game, posting 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Ben Schwieger joined in the scoring effort, finishing with 19 points on an efficient 7-for-10 shooting.
For the Racers (13-14, 7-9), Terence Harcum led the team, scoring 19 points, while Nick Ellington added another 18 points to the total. Jacobi Wood chipped in with 15 points, providing consistent offensive support for Murray State.
The game saw a pivotal 10-0 scoring run from Northern Iowa in the first half, allowing them to establish a four-point lead. Northern Iowa secured the lead for good early in the second half when Campbell connected on a three-pointer, making the score 44-41 with 16:04 remaining.
