FAIRFIELD, Conn. — In an exciting matchup on Sunday, the Manhattan Jaspers emerged victorious over the Fairfield Stags with a score of 80-67. Masiah Gilyard played a crucial role in the win, contributing 21 points and seven rebounds for his team.

Alongside Gilyard, Jaden Winston added 18 points to the scoreboard, showcasing his efficiency by making 6 out of 8 shots, including 2 out of 4 from beyond the arc, and he contributed four steals and five rebounds. Will Sydnor helped bolster the team’s performance by scoring 13 points, shooting 5 for 12 overall and finishing with seven rebounds.

For the Stags, Prophet Johnson had a standout performance, recording a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, along with six assists and two steals. Braden Sparks also contributed by scoring 12 points in the match, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in favor of Fairfield.

The Jaspers’ win improved their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference record to 8-6, bolstering their overall season performance to 13-10, while the Stags fell to a record of 9-17, with a conference standing of 5-10.
