BEAUMONT, Texas — On Monday evening, Lamar University secured a 67-56 triumph over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, with Ja’Sean Jackson stepping into the spotlight by scoring 15 points and leading his team to victory.
Jackson demonstrated impressive shooting skills, hitting 4 of his 7 attempts from the field, which included one out of three from beyond the arc, and he perfect on the free-throw line, sinking all six attempts. This win improved Lamar’s record to 15 wins and 10 losses, with a conference standing of 10-4 in the Southland Conference.
Backing Jackson, Andrew Holifield contributed 13 points along with five rebounds, while Alexis Marmolejos matched Holifield’s scoring output with 13 points and added three steals to his stats.
On the opposing side, Owen Dease was the standout performer for the Islanders, amassing 20 points in the game. Jaden Walker also made a contribution with nine points for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, whose overall record stands at 15 wins and 11 losses, including 8-6 in the conference standings.
