MONTGOMERY, Ala. — In an exciting matchup on Monday night, Amarr Knox delivered a standout performance with 26 points, helping Alabama State narrowly defeat Southern with a final score of 82-81. The victory was particularly significant as it halted the Jaguars’ impressive 10-game winning streak.
Knox contributed not only with his scoring but also by dishing out six assists for the Hornets, who now hold a record of 10-14 overall and 6-5 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. CJ Hines made a considerable impact as well, scoring 19 points after shooting 7 for 15 from the field, which included an impressive 4 for 9 from the three-point line. Additionally, Antonio Madlock added to the Hornets’ tally with 18 points, shooting 7-for-14.
On the opposing side, the Jaguars were led by Cam Amboree, who scored 17 points. Southern’s Dionjahe Thomas contributed a solid performance of his own with 12 points and nine rebounds.
