LAKE CHARLES, La.
— In an impressive performance on Saturday night, Javohn Garcia led the McNeese Cowboys to a 65-50 victory over Northwestern State by scoring 22 points.
Garcia also contributed defensively with four steals, helping the Cowboys improve their record to 18-6 overall and 12-1 in the Southland Conference.
Sincere Parker supported the team’s success with 15 points, displaying strong free-throw shooting with a perfect 6 for 6 from the line, while going 4 of 11 from the field.
DJ Richards added to the scoring effort, hitting four three-pointers and finishing the game with 12 points on 4 of 10 shooting beyond the arc.
For Northwestern State, which now holds a record of 10-13 and 7-6 in conference play, Micah Thomas was the top scorer with 13 points.
Addison Patterson helped the Demons with 12 points, and Landyn Jumawan contributed significantly, recording 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals in the contest.
Looking ahead, both McNeese and Northwestern State are set to play again on Monday.
McNeese will welcome East Texas A&M to their home court, while Northwestern State will hit the road for a matchup against Nicholls State.
