BUFFALO, N.Y. — In an exciting matchup during the MAC/Sun Belt Challenge on Saturday, Georgia State triumphed over Buffalo with a final score of 80-75. Malachi Brown was a standout performer for the Panthers, contributing significantly with 16 points.
In addition to his scoring, Brown secured seven rebounds, delivered six assists, and recorded three steals. His all-around performance helped lead Georgia State to improve their season record to 10 wins and 15 losses. Alongside him, Jelani Hamilton added 14 points, shooting an efficient 4 of 8 from the field, which included two successful shots from beyond the arc. He also went a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. Both Zarigue Nutter and Cesare Edwards also made their mark by scoring 13 points each in the game.
On the other side, Ryan Sabol was the top scorer for Buffalo, netting 13 points along with two steals. Teammate Bryson Wilson matched that effort with another 13 points. Tyson Dunn complemented the offense with 11 points, while also contributing six rebounds and five assists throughout the game.
Looking ahead, Georgia State is set to face Old Dominion in a home game scheduled for Thursday, while Buffalo will be traveling to Northern Illinois for their next contest on Tuesday.
