LEXINGTON, Va. – East Tennessee State achieved a narrow victory over VMI on Wednesday night, with Jaden Seymour leading the charge by scoring 18 points in the matchup, resulting in a final score of 62-55.
Seymour’s performance was complemented by his impressive 10 rebounds, contributing to the Buccaneers’ overall success. John Buggs III also made a significant impact on the game, scoring 12 points and grabbing six rebounds. Quimari Peterson rounded off the scoring for East Tennessee State with 11 points, having successfully made 5 of his 13 attempts from the field, including 1 of 4 from beyond the arc.
On the other side, the Keydets saw their best performance come from TJ Johnson, who tallied 15 points alongside nine rebounds. Augustinas Kiudulas played a noteworthy role as well, finishing the game with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds. Linus Holmstrom also contributed to his team’s effort by scoring 10 points.
Both squads are set to return to action on Saturday, with East Tennessee State preparing to host Samford while VMI will be facing The Citadel on their home court.
