In a midweek clash, Lipscomb triumphed over West Georgia with a score of 76-67, thanks in large part to the impressive performance of Jacob Ognacevic, who secured 24 points for the Bisons.
Ognacevic also contributed significantly on the boards, pulling down eight rebounds. Team-mate Gyasi Powell showcased his shooting skills, accumulating 18 points on 6 of 12 shooting, including four three-pointers from nine attempts. Will Pruitt also played a vital role in the victory, adding 14 points to the team’s total.
On the other side of the court, West Georgia struggled throughout the season, currently holding a record of 4-20 and only 2 wins in 9 conference games. Tamaury Releford was the standout player for the Wolves, scoring 15 points and gathering seven rebounds. Shelton Williams-Dryden contributed 13 points to the effort, alongside six rebounds, while Kolten Griffin matched his teammate’s scoring output with another 13 points.
This victory for Lipscomb bolstered their standing in the Atlantic Sun Conference, as they now sit at 16-8 overall, showcasing their push for a stronger postseason presence.
