LIVERPOOL, England — Carlos Alcaraz has completed a loan transfer to Everton from Flamengo as the transfer deadline day concluded on Monday.
The arrangement for the Argentina under-23 midfielder is set to last until the end of the current season, with Everton retaining the option to make the transfer permanent during the summer window.
Alcaraz expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am ready for any challenge with this beautiful club so that’s why I came and accepted the offer to keep fighting for my dreams.”
The 22-year-old, who has prior experience in the Premier League with Southampton and also enjoyed a loan stint at Juventus, is looking forward to contributing to his new team.
Everton’s manager, David Moyes, commented on the transfer, mentioning the ongoing need to bolster the squad, especially given the recent injuries the team has faced.
“We’ve been looking to add players to give us more depth, particularly after the recent injuries we’ve picked up,” Moyes noted. “Carlos has Premier League experience, he’s still young, and we believe he can bring some energy to the team which will help us between now and the end of the season.”
Additionally, Monday marked another busy day in the Premier League with Ben Chilwell moving to Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea.
Another Chelsea player, midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, has also secured a loan deal, this time with Borussia Dortmund.
These moves highlight the transfer activity as clubs seek to strengthen their squads amidst the season’s challenges.
