BINGHAMTON, N.Y.
Wes Peterson contributed significantly to Binghamton’s 75-72 victory over Vermont on Thursday evening, scoring 18 points and helping the team break a challenging five-game losing streak.
Peterson displayed an impressive shooting performance, making 7 out of 10 attempts from the field and hitting 3 of 4 free throws for the Bearcats, who now have a record of 10-12 and 2-5 in the America East Conference.
Gavin Walsh also had a standout night, achieving a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Chris Walker added 14 points to the team’s total.
For Vermont, Shamir Bogues was the top performer, scoring 21 points and providing four assists. TJ Hurley followed with 19 points, and Ileri Ayo-Faleye chipped in with 11 points as well as two blocks, but it wasn’t enough to clinch a win for the Catamounts, who hold a record of 11-11 and 4-3 in their conference play.
