Raducanu searches for seventh coach after parting ways with Cavaday due to his health concerns.

Emma Raducanu, the British tennis star, is on the lookout for a new coach following the end of her collaboration with Nick Cavaday, primarily due to his health concerns.

Cavaday represented the sixth coach in the 22-year-old’s relatively brief but impactful career, which reached a peak when she astonishingly claimed the U.S. Open title as a qualifier back in 2021.

During their 14-month partnership, Cavaday played a significant role in helping Raducanu climb back to the top 60 in global rankings after she underwent surgeries on both wrists, along with a procedure on one ankle.

Cavaday expressed his need to prioritize his health, stating, “At this moment in time, it’s important for me to spend some more time at home and prioritize getting back to full health, which is hard to do with the extensive calendar.” He also conveyed his satisfaction with Raducanu’s progress, remarking, “I am glad Emma is back to being established on tour now.”

Currently, Raducanu holds the No. 61 spot in the world rankings. Her coaching journey has included various mentors; after Nigel Sears, she was guided by Andrew Richardson at the moment of her U.S. Open victory when she was just 18. In the time since, she has had short coaching periods with Torben Beltz, Dmitry Tursunov, and Sebastian Sachs before ultimately reconnecting with Cavaday, who had previously coached her during her junior career.
