NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In an impressive performance, Brandon Weston scored 21 points, leading Tennessee State to an 89-77 triumph over Tennessee Tech on Thursday evening.
Alongside Weston, who also contributed five rebounds, the Tigers (9-12, 5-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference) saw Josh Ogundele step up with 16 points, shooting an efficient 7 of 10 from the field and hitting 2 of 4 from the free-throw line. He added to the team effort with seven rebounds as well. Carlous Williams also made a significant impact, sinking 7 of 9 shots for a total of 14 points.
On the other side, Kyle Layton was a standout for the Golden Eagles (9-11, 4-5), scoring 20 points and making two steals. Ola Ajiboye provided solid support with 12 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Jaylon Johnson rounded out the scoring with 11 points, while also contributing seven rebounds and seven assists.
Looking ahead, Tennessee State will face Little Rock in an away game on Thursday, while Tennessee Tech is set to head to UT Martin for their match on Saturday.
