PITTSBURGH — Enoch Cheeks had a standout performance for Dayton, contributing 23 points in their impressive 82-62 victory over Duquesne on Tuesday evening.
In addition to his scoring, Cheeks recorded six rebounds and four steals, helping the Flyers improve to a record of 13-6 overall and 3-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Amael L’Etang also had an impactful game, scoring 16 points with an efficient shooting display of 7-for-11, including one 3-pointer out of three attempts, as well as one free throw on three attempts. Javon Bennett matched L’Etang’s point total, going 6-for-9 from the field, which featured an impressive 4-for-5 performance from three-point territory.
On the other side, Duquesne was led by Tre Dinkins, who finished with 14 points while also dishing out four assists.
The Flyers dominated the first half, heading into halftime with a commanding 44-25 lead, bolstered by Cheeks’ 14 points before the break. In the second half, L’Etang took charge for Dayton, leading the team with 11 points.
Looking ahead, Dayton will face Saint Joseph’s at home in their next matchup on Friday. Meanwhile, Duquesne will travel to Fordham for their forthcoming game on Sunday.
