Bailey scores 18 as Wofford defeats Mercer 69-49

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — In a commanding performance on Saturday evening, Wofford secured a 69-49 victory over Mercer, largely thanks to Justin Bailey’s contribution of 18 points.

Bailey had an impressive shooting night, hitting 5 of his 6 attempts from the field, including 2 of 3 from long distance, and he was successful 6 out of 8 times at the charity stripe. The Terriers now hold a record of 10-9 overall and 4-2 within the Southern Conference.
Dillon Bailey also made a notable impact, scoring 13 points with a shooting line of 3 for 9, of which 2 were from three-point territory. His free-throw shooting was solid at 5 for 6. Corey Tripp contributed to the team’s efforts as well, finishing with 12 points on a 4 for 11 shooting performance, including 2 for 6 from beyond the arc.
On the other side, the Mercer Bears struggled to keep pace and were led by Alex Holt, who managed to score 11 points. Meanwhile, Brady Shoulders recorded a well-rounded game with 8 points, along with 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Ahmad Robinson also added 8 points to his team’s tally.
Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Wednesday. Wofford will face Citadel at home, while Mercer will take on UNC Greensboro in an away game.
