— A standout performance by Tre Thomas, who scored 22 points, propelled Bethune-Cookman to an impressive 83-58 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday night.
Thomas was efficient on the court, hitting 9 of his 12 attempts and making 4 of 7 from the three-point line for the Wildcats, who improved their record to 6-11 overall and 3-1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Daniel Rouzan contributed significantly with 13 points, showcasing his versatility by shooting 5 of 10 from the field and netting 2 of 3 from the charity stripe, alongside five rebounds.
Gianni Hunt also shined for Bethune-Cookman, finishing with 11 points after making 4 of 7 field goals, which included one three-pointer, and scoring 2 of 4 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, Alvin Stredic Jr. was the top scorer for the Delta Devils with 19 points. His efforts were complemented by Donovan Sanders, who recorded 14 points, along with six rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Arthur Tate contributed with 10 points as well.
This defeat marked the ninth consecutive loss for Mississippi Valley State, worsening their season record to 2-16 and leaving them at 0-5 in conference play.
