KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Buffalo’s basketball team secured an 85-76 win over Western Michigan in a match held on Saturday, marking an important victory for the Bulls.
Tyson Dunn was a standout performer for Buffalo, contributing significantly with 20 points along with nine rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. His all-around game was vital in helping his team. Ryan Sabol chipped in with 11 points, though he had a shooting night that included just three successful field goals out of ten attempts, shooting 2 for 9 from beyond the arc, but he also added five rebounds and five assists. Noah Batchelor rounded out the scoring with 10 points, shooting 3 of 7 from the field, including two of four from three-point territory. This victory ended Buffalo’s seven-game losing streak and breathed new life into their season.
On the other side, the Broncos of Western Michigan were led by Chansey Willis Jr., who delivered an impressive performance with 21 points, five assists, and six steals. His efforts kept the game competitive. Javaughn Hannah also made a notable contribution, scoring 16 points along with providing four assists and two steals. Meanwhile, Owen Lobsinger had a solid game in the paint, recording nine points and snagging 14 rebounds.
The Bulls jumped ahead early in the contest, taking the lead just 46 seconds into the first half and maintained their advantage throughout. By halftime, Buffalo was leading 53-39, with Omar Migues-Hibeljic adding eight points to the team’s first-half total.
Both teams are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, with Buffalo set to host Akron and Western Michigan ready to face Northern Illinois at home.
