In an impressive display, Jaloni Cambridge netted 27 points and Chance Gray contributed 22, leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to an 80-69 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday evening.

Cambridge, who came into the game averaging 14.5 points per game, showcased an outstanding shooting performance, hitting 11 of her 16 attempts from the field. Additionally, she recorded a career-best eight rebounds. Cotie McMahon also made a significant contribution, scoring 17 points for Ohio State, which improved to a remarkable 17-0 overall and remains undefeated in the Big Ten with a 6-0 record. This marks Ohio State’s best start since they took 19 straight wins in the 2022-23 season.

For Wisconsin, Serah Williams had a standout performance with 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Tess Myers added a season-high of 18 points. Unfortunately, the Badgers suffered their sixth consecutive defeat, with their only conference victory occurring against Rutgers on December 8.

Despite the loss, Wisconsin outperformed Ohio State in rebounding with a 37-34 advantage and managed to make 12 of their 29 attempts from beyond the arc.

In notable highlights, Gray successfully executed 5 of 9 attempts from three-point range, showcasing Ohio State’s balanced scoring ability both inside the paint and from long range. Lily Krahn came off the bench to score 16 points for the Badgers and made four three-pointers, but the team struggled to provide sufficient support for Williams, who achieved her seventh double-double of the season.

A critical moment in the game occurred late in the third quarter when Myers hit a three-pointer to narrow the deficit to 54-51 with just over two minutes remaining. However, by the end of the period, Ohio State had surged ahead with a score of 63-54, capped off by Gray’s three free throws just before the buzzer sounded.

A significant stat from the game was Ohio State’s ability to maintain their defensive intensity, collecting 11 steals, which aligns with their season average of 11.5 steals per game. McMahon accounted for three of those steals, further solidifying the Buckeyes’ defensive prowess.

Looking ahead, Ohio State will be traveling to Penn State for their next matchup on Sunday, while Wisconsin will head to Nebraska for their game on Monday.
