LOS ANGELES — For the first time, Fox will be streaming the Super Bowl on Tubi, allowing viewers to enjoy the highly anticipated game for free on February 9.
Tubi, a free streaming service backed by ads, was acquired by Fox Corporation back in 2020. This upcoming event marks the second occasion within three years that Fox will host the Super Bowl, having previously streamed it through their digital platforms and website two years prior.
In addition to the big game, Tubi will also provide access to the Super Bowl pregame show from Fox, as well as its own unique pre-show titled “Tubi Red Carpet.” This segment will be presented by Olivia Culpo, who will be broadcasting live from the Superdome in New Orleans. Culpo is known to be married to Christian McCaffrey, the star running back for the San Francisco 49ers.
The Super Bowl broadcast will be accessible not only on Fox and Fox Deportes, but also via Tubi, Telemundo, and various NFL digital platforms.
While other media companies like NBC Universal (Peacock), CBS (Paramount +), and Walt Disney Corp. (ESPN+) have successfully ventured into the sports streaming space on their subscription-based platforms, Fox has yet to establish a similar presence in either entertainment or sports.
Fox was initially set to participate in the Venu sports streaming system, but plans changed following an announcement made last Friday stating that the joint venture would no longer move forward.
