HIGH POINT, N.C. — In an impressive display of offense, High Point cruised to a 96-55 victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday evening.
Chase Johnston was a key contributor for the Panthers, scoring 16 points with an efficient shooting performance, hitting 6 out of 7 attempts. Notably, he made 4 of 5 three-point shots, helping secure the commanding win for High Point, which improved to a record of 15-4 and 3-1 in the Big South Conference.
Trae Benham also made a significant impact, contributing 12 points, showcasing his shooting prowess by sinking 4 of 6 from beyond the arc. Bobby Pettiford chimed in with 11 points, hitting 5 of 8 from the field, helping to drive the Panthers’ offensive momentum.
On the other side, the Runnin’ Bulldogs struggled to find their rhythm, with Darryl Simmons II leading his team by scoring 10 points and dishing out four assists. Jamaine Mann had a solid all-around performance with seven points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. Shahar Lazar also scored seven points but it wasn’t enough to close the gap against a dominant High Point team.
