NORFOLK, Va. – In an impressive display of scoring, Christian Ings contributed significantly to Norfolk State’s victory over Coppin State, leading the game with 21 points and aiding in a final score of 92-69 on Saturday night.

Ings finished the game shooting an efficient 7 of 10 from the field, including 4 for 5 from beyond the arc, while also hitting 3 of his 4 attempts at the free-throw line for the Spartans, who now hold a record of 12-7 and 3-0 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Joining him in the scoring effort was Brian Moore Jr., who recorded 19 points, making all of his shot attempts at 7 for 7 and connecting on 3 of 5 from the charity stripe. Additionally, Jalen Myers added 15 points to the scoreboard, hitting 6 of 10 attempts overall and 1 for 3 from long range.

For the Eagles, who now hold a 2-15 record and stand at 1-2 in conference play, the top performance came from Toby Nnadozie, who was the leading scorer with 15 points and also tallied three steals during the matchup. Teammate Jonathan Dunn supported the effort with 13 points, while Peter Oduro contributed with 12 points and six rebounds, rounding out the team’s efforts.

Both teams are set to return to action on Monday, with Norfolk State traveling to face Morgan State, while Coppin State will be hitting the road to take on Howard.
