NEW ORLEANS — Tulane achieved a narrow victory over South Florida, winning 73-70 on Saturday, with Asher Woods contributing significantly by scoring 15 points.

Woods had a shooting performance of 5 for 15 overall, including making 3 out of 8 attempts from three-point range, helping the Green Wave improve their season record to 9-8 and 3-1 in the American Athletic Conference.

Kaleb Banks also made an impact with 14 points and three steals, while Rowan Brumbaugh added 13 points, shooting 5 for 13 and connecting on 3 of 6 attempts from long distance.

For South Florida, Jamille Reynolds was the standout player, leading the team with 19 points. Quincy Adekokoya contributed 13 points, with Jimmie Williams adding nine to the Bulls’ effort.

In the first half, Woods managed to score 10 points, yet Tulane found itself trailing 37-34 at halftime. However, Banks played a key role in the final moments, scoring the team’s last six points to secure the three-point win.

Looking ahead, both teams are slated to play again on Wednesday, with Tulane set to host Florida Atlantic and South Florida facing UAB at home.
