— In an impressive performance, Denijay Harris scored 19 points, helping the Southern Miss Golden Eagles secure an 84-67 victory over UL Monroe on Thursday evening.
Harris not only excelled in scoring but also contributed significantly on the boards, recording 18 rebounds and blocking three shots. This game pushed Southern Miss to a record of 7-9 overall and 2-2 in the Sun Belt Conference. Alfred Worrell Jr. was another standout for the Golden Eagles, adding 16 points to the scoreboard while shooting 7 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc. Neftali Alvarez contributed 14 points, with an efficient shooting performance, going 6 for 9 but struggled from the free-throw line, hitting only 1 of 4 attempts.
On the other side, Jalen Bolden led the Warhawks with a solid performance, scoring 17 points alongside six rebounds and six steals. His efforts were supplemented by Coltie Young, who netted 15 points for the team. Jacob Wilson also made his mark, contributing 10 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
