Haid scores 24 as Central Connecticut State triumphs over Quinnipiac 84-80

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — In an exciting college basketball matchup on Saturday, Central Connecticut State secured an 84-80 victory over Quinnipiac, largely thanks to a standout performance by Devin Haid, who led all scorers with 24 points.

Haid also contributed six rebounds and four steals for the Blue Devils, improving their record to 8-4 this season. Supporting him were teammates Max Frazier, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds, and Davonte Sweatman, who added 14 points while shooting 5 for 9 from the field. Sweatman also made an impact at the free-throw line, converting 3 of 4 attempts and hitting 1 of 3 from beyond the arc.

For the Bobcats, who fall to a record of 5-7, Amarri Tice was the standout player with a double-double, posting 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, alongside four steals. Paul Otieno complemented Tice’s efforts by scoring 13 points and securing six rebounds, while Ryan Mabrey also made significant contributions with 12 points.
