JERSEY CITY, N.J. — In an exciting match on Friday night, Mouhamed Sow led Saint Peter’s to a 72-64 victory over Delaware, contributing a stellar 25 points to the team’s performance.
Sow showcased his shooting skills, going 11 for 14 from the field, while his teammates also played key roles in the win. Bryce Eaton scored 15 points, hitting five of his 14 total attempts, with an impressive 5 for 7 from three-point range, adding seven rebounds to his stats. Armoni Zeigler, though less efficient with a 2 of 7 shooting performance, made an impact at the free-throw line by finishing with eight points, in addition to grabbing 13 boards.
The Fightin’ Blue Hens, who now have a record of 7-5, saw their top scorer, Niels Lane, contribute 20 points along with two blocks. Izaiah Pasha managed to score 13 points while also handing out five assists, and John Camden chipped in another 13 points to the efforts of Delaware.
Saint Peter’s gained the lead early in the first half, establishing a grip on the game just 18 minutes into the gameplay, maintaining their advantage throughout. Sow’s scoring prowess helped secure a 34-33 edge at halftime. The team’s momentum continued into the second half, kickstarting an impressive 9-0 run that overturned a two-point deficit and propelled them to a commanding 43-36 lead at 17:13. Sow scored 14 points in the latter half to seal the game.
Next, Saint Peter’s will face off against Quinnipiac at home this coming Friday, while Delaware is set to travel for an encounter against St. John’s on Saturday.
