HOUSTON — Cade Stover, a rookie tight end for the Houston Texans, underwent an emergency appendectomy on Saturday night, leading to his absence in the upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins.
The Texans made a statement on Sunday morning regarding Stover’s surgery, confirming that he is recovering well and is expected to return to full health soon.
Prior to the surgery, the team had listed him as questionable for the game due to an illness, but further updates revealed the need for surgical intervention.
Stover, who was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft out of Ohio State, has been a notable contributor this season. He has participated in 13 games, starting in eight of them, while recording 14 receptions for a total of 132 yards, along with a touchdown.
The Texans will have to adjust their game plan in light of Stover’s unexpected absence, and fans will certainly be keeping an eye on his recovery progress.
