— In an impressive performance, Chase Forte contributed significantly to South Dakota’s victory over Western Illinois on Saturday, finishing the game with 21 points.
Forte also recorded six rebounds and five assists, showcasing his all-around skills as the Coyotes improved their record to 9-4.
Cameron Fens supported the team with 17 points, shooting 5 of 8 from the field and successfully converting 7 of 9 free-throw attempts while also grabbing six rebounds.
Isaac Bruns added to the scoring effort with 13 points, hitting 4 of 10 field goals, including 1 of 3 from beyond the arc, along with making 4 of 5 free throws.
On the opposing side, Marko Maletic led the Leathernecks with a strong showing, netting 24 points, followed by Julius Rollins who contributed 13 points.
Additionally, Sean Smith chipped in with 11 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome South Dakota’s offensive firepower.
Looking ahead, South Dakota will be facing Utah Tech on Thursday in an away game.
In contrast, Western Illinois will welcome Tennessee Tech to their home court on Tuesday.
