KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ladd McConkey, a rookie wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers, did not participate in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night due to injuries affecting his knee and shoulder.

This marked the first game that McConkey has missed this season, and he has notably been a strong performer among NFL rookies, ranking third with 58 receptions and fourth with 815 receiving yards. Additionally, he has secured four touchdown catches, placing him joint third among his rookie peers.

In recent weeks, McConkey showcased his abilities by surpassing the 100-yard receiving mark in three out of his last six games.

The Chargers had several players declared inactive, including linebacker Denzel Perryman, safety Tony Jefferson, and offensive linemen Brenden Jaimes and Jordan McFadden, along with defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe. Quarterback Easton Stick was designated as the emergency third quarterback for the game.

On the Chiefs’ side, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, defensive end Josh Uche, offensive lineman CJ Hanson, and tackles Ethan Driskell and Kingsley Suamataia did not see action. Defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu and edge rusher Malik Herring were also inactive.

Edwards-Helaire had been activated from the non-football illness list on October 18 but has yet to appear in a game this season.
