KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs head coach Andy Reid indicated on Friday that newly acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will “probably” participate in the upcoming game against the Raiders in Las Vegas. This statement follows the recent trade that brought the three-time All-Pro player from the Titans to Kansas City, which was finalized just three days ago.
Reid’s comments came after Hopkins completed his second practice session with the team, showing he is quickly adapting to his new surroundings. The Chiefs made the move to acquire Hopkins by sending a conditional fifth-round draft pick to Tennessee, primarily due to the injuries plaguing their receiving corps. With Marquise Brown undergoing shoulder surgery and Rashee Rice requiring knee surgery, both players are unlikely to return this season. Additionally, JuJu Smith-Schuster has been confirmed out for the Raiders game due to a hamstring injury.
In further injury updates, Reid mentioned that defensive end Mike Danna would also be sidelined as he continues his recovery from a pectoral injury.
As they prepare for the match in Las Vegas, the Chiefs remain the only undefeated team in the NFL with a record of 6-0. Interestingly, the Raiders are the last team that managed to defeat Kansas City, securing a 20-14 victory on Christmas Day last year at Arrowhead Stadium.
