NEW YORK – On Monday, numerous Microsoft 365 users across the globe experienced disruptions affecting popular services, including Outlook and Teams.
Reports of complications began flooding social media, particularly on platforms such as Downdetector, where many users expressed difficulties in accessing their emails, viewing calendars, and opening various applications within the Microsoft 365 suite like PowerPoint.
Earlier in the day, Microsoft acknowledged a problem that was impacting users trying to access Exchange Online or using features within the Teams calendar. In updates communicated on X, formerly known as Twitter, Microsoft indicated that it had identified a “recent change” as the source of the issues and was actively working to revert this change.
The tech giant noted that a fix was being deployed, and by just before noon Eastern Time, it reported that the solution had reached approximately 98% of the affected environments. However, Microsoft later updated its status page to note that specific restarts were progressing more slowly than expected for many users who were still encountering issues.
As of Monday afternoon, Downdetector continued to show thousands of outage reports related to Microsoft 365, with Outlook being the most impacted application among users.
