200,000 fans and 20,000 LAPD expected at Dodgers parade after chaotic crashes last night

Los Angeles is preparing for its biggest event in years: Starting at 11 am PT the city will host the new Baseball Wold Champions, the formidable Los Angeles Dodgers, for a huge victory parade in Downton LA. The parade is following chaotic celebrations on Wednesday night when fans set a bus in fire and shot thousands of illegal fireworks against massive police forces.

The victory parade on Friday morning begins at 11 am in front of City Hall at Gloria Molina Grad Park with a speech by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

Dodgers arrive in double-decker bus

The whole Dodgers team will drive in double-decker buses along a 45-minute route from 1st Street along Grand Avenue to 5th and Flower Street.

The event will be incredible: At least 200,000 Dodgers fans, maybe up to 500,000 excited Angelinos are expected to join the parade on its 45-minute route.

One City official: “it might well be the biggest public event Los Angeles has ever seen!”

Security will be on high alert since the chaotic events on Wednesday evening when excited fans set a bus on fire, had fights with the police and ignited thousands of illegal fire works.

The city official: “This will be the biggest security issue LA has ever seen. Many of the fans are out of control since Wednesday evening, so the police will have a tough job to keep the mass audience under control. At the same time we have terror threats, we are in alert for shop robbery, for thieves, maybe even for murder. It will be the biggest security threat Los Angeles has ever seen!”

The parade will end around 12.15 pm. Traffic will be extreme and chaotic – around downtown, police is afraid of a total gridlock.

Fans who want to see the parade will have to be there latest by 9 am to avoid traffic gridlock and have a good view. All visitors are strongly recommended to use public transport. The city official: “Traffic, especially on the 10, the 101 and the 5 will be a nightmare!”

Following the end of the parade a special ticketed event at Dodger Stadium will begin at 12:15 pm. There will be a special show program in the Dodger Stadium including a a public viewing of the Dodger parade on huge screens. There will be highlights with celebrities, music, speeches – and the Dodgers team will arrive at the stadium around 1 pm.
