Aaron Gordon signs a four-year contract extension worth $133 million with the Denver Nuggets

DENVER — The Denver Nuggets have solidified their roster by finalizing a contract extension with forward Aaron Gordon, which is a four-year deal worth $133 million, announced on Monday evening.

The agreement was validated by his agents, Calvin Andrews and Rich Paul from Klutch Sports, along with Elise Gordon, Aaron’s sister, who has been a significant supporter throughout his career. The 29-year-old forward played a crucial role in helping the Nuggets achieve their inaugural NBA championship during the 2022-23 season.

This latest contract comes just a month after the Nuggets secured point guard Jamal Murray with a lucrative four-year, $208 million maximum extension. The team already has their three-time MVP, Nikola Jokic, under contract through the 2026-27 season, with an option for the following year, and also has sharpshooter Michael Porter Jr. on board until 2026-27.
As he embarks on his 11th season in the NBA, Gordon recorded an average of 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds last season, which aligns closely with his career averages of 13.5 points and 6.3 rebounds.
Originally drafted by the Orlando Magic in 2014 as the fourth overall pick out of the University of Arizona, Gordon was traded to the Nuggets in March 2021 and has since evolved into a key player under the guidance of head coach Michael Malone.
In a personal tribute, Gordon will wear jersey number 32 this season in memory of his brother, Drew, who tragically passed away in a car accident in Oregon earlier this spring.
During the team’s media day, Gordon expressed gratitude towards his teammates for their unwavering support during his difficult time. “These guys have been there for me every step of the way,” he remarked, adding that they have grown into a family-like bond. “These guys have really developed into people that I would call my brothers.”
The Nuggets are set to kick off their season at home on Thursday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
