Kamara’s Four Touchdowns Lead Saints to Break Cowboys’ 16-Game Home Winning Streak with 44-19 Victory

In Arlington, Texas, Alvin Kamara had an impressive performance, scoring four touchdowns to lead the New Orleans Saints to a 44-19 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The win ended the Cowboys’ 16-game home winning streak in the regular season. Kamara’s standout plays included a 57-yard touchdown on a screen pass. Derek Carr also had a strong game, throwing for 243 yards and two touchdowns, while also scoring a touchdown with a 1-yard sneak.

The Saints, now 2-0 for the season, scored touchdowns on their first six drives, building on their strong start from the previous week when they set a franchise record by scoring on nine consecutive possessions against Carolina. It was the second consecutive loss at AT&T Stadium for the Cowboys, following their defeat against Green Bay in January.

Despite a strong defensive performance in the previous game, where they limited Cleveland to 54 yards in the first half, the Cowboys struggled to contain the Saints’ offense. New Orleans amassed 432 yards and secured the victory with the help of four field goals by offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

The Saints’ impressive offensive display marked the first time since 2018 that they scored at least 40 points in consecutive games. Quarterback Carr excelled, completing 11 of 16 passes, but his perfect passer rating was marred by an interception in the fourth quarter. Kamara, with 180 scrimmage yards, made significant contributions to the Saints’ victory.

Dallas attempted to mount a comeback, with CeeDee Lamb scoring a 65-yard touchdown, but the effort was thwarted by turnovers, including two interceptions by quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott, who recently signed a record-breaking contract, finished the game with 293 passing yards.

In terms of injuries, Saints’ cornerback Marshon Lattimore and tight end Taysom Hill both had to leave the game due to injury, while Cowboys’ tight end Jake Ferguson was sidelined with a knee injury sustained in a previous game.

The Saints will face Philadelphia at home next Sunday, while the Cowboys will play against Baltimore at home on the same day.
