Taylor Swift’s groundbreaking Eras Tour celebrated a spectacular return to London on Thursday night, featuring a special guest appearance by Ed Sheeran at Wembley Stadium. Sheeran joined Swift during the acoustic segment, performing their hits “Everything Has Changed” and “Endgame,” followed by a burst of his own chart-topper, “Thinking Out Loud.”

The surprise appearance was met with deafening cheers from an already exuberant audience, who had been singing, dancing, and making heart hands throughout the concert. Sheeran’s inclusion added a memorable touch to Swift’s meticulously crafted stage show, showcasing her illustrious career.

The event marked a significant moment for Swift and her tour, following recent hardships. The singer and her team have faced heartbreak after the tragic deaths of three young fans in Southport, England, who were killed in an attack at a Swift-themed dance class. Additionally, there was a scare involving a foiled terror plot against a concert venue in Austria, leading to the arrest of three extremists and the cancellation of August’s Vienna shows.

Despite these challenges, Swift took to the stage at Wembley with a warm “Oh hi London” and humorously admitted to experiencing a “love system overload” when greeting the crowd. She expressed gratitude to the 92,000-strong audience for their presence, especially given the increased security measures in place.

With four more dates at Wembley Stadium, Swift is set to break records for a solo residency at the venue and conclude the European leg of the Eras Tour. The tour will resume in Toronto this November and is projected to surpass $2 billion in revenue, building on last year’s record-setting $1 billion in ticket sales, according to Pollstar.
