Trump to host a rally at Madison Square Garden during the campaign’s crucial final phase

Donald Trump is making his way back to New York as he enters the final phase of his campaign. He is set to host a rally at Madison Square Garden on October 27, an event that marks his commitment to energizing supporters in the lead-up to election day, as revealed by a campaign official who wished to remain anonymous prior to an official announcement.

This upcoming rally will be Trump’s second appearance in New York, having previously held an event in the South Bronx in May that attracted a significant and diverse audience. In addition to this, he conducted another rally on Long Island just last month. During a recent rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Trump expressed enthusiasm for the planned event, indicating, “We have some very big ones coming. We just rented Madison Square Garden. We’re going to make a play for New York.” He also mentioned ambitions to secure venues in Atlanta, Georgia, and New Jersey.

Despite New York’s overwhelming Democratic leanings—which led to Trump losing by over 20 percentage points in the past two elections—he remains confident in his strategy to capture the state’s electorate. Trump’s flair for drawing significant media attention is evident through events at high-profile locations like Madison Square Garden.

While focusing on key battleground areas such as Pennsylvania and North Carolina, Trump also plans to travel to regions deemed less competitive. He has a scheduled visit to Aurora, Colorado, where discussions surrounding the recent wave of migrants in the area have sparked controversy. In the 2020 election, Democrat Joe Biden secured 55% of the vote in Colorado.

This summer, Aurora’s mayor amplified claims from a landlord concerning Venezuelan gang activity at a derelict apartment complex, which local police have contested. Trump and fellow Republicans have jumped on these claims, with Trump asserting during a town hall that Venezuelans were “taking over the whole town” and committing to allocate federal resources to “liberate” the area if he regains office.

The rally on Saturday will be held in Coachella, California, a location famous for its annual music festival, where Trump also faced significant losses in the last two elections by approximately 30 percentage points. At the same time, Trump emphasized his broader strategy that includes targeting other Democratic strongholds such as New Jersey, Virginia, New Mexico, and Minnesota, showcasing his intention to challenge the prevailing political landscape.
