The Supreme Court opted not to entertain a challenge from Pennsylvania’s Republican lawmakers regarding an executive order by the Biden administration aimed at enhancing voter registration efforts.
Without providing any commentary, the justices dismissed the appeal from the Republicans, who argued that the order poses an unconstitutional interference in the upcoming November elections. The lower court system had previously ruled against the lawsuit.
This legal push included nine Republican secretaries of state along with 11 congressional members, who had urged the court to take action. Earlier in May, the Supreme Court had declined to expedite their review of the matter.
In addition, the justices rejected two separate appeals rooted in unfounded allegations from Republicans, which claimed that Dominion Voting Systems’ machines and software contributed to Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 election.
One of these cases involved an appeal from Fulton County, Pennsylvania, disputing a ruling by the state’s highest court concerning voting machines. The other appeal involved complaints from individuals nationwide who alleged that the Denver-based Dominion sought to suppress their voices.
